A session will last on average one hour. Larger groups can take longer but this can be discussed on booking.

There are no absolute rules for what you should wear but the following guidelines should help: Choose formal or casual clothing but for family or group portraits try not to have one person in casual dress while everyone else goes for a more formal look. Wear what you like and what you feel comfortable in. Avoid large logos as these date the pictures quickly. Be prepared to remove shoes and socks as this adds a dimension of intimacy and fun. Black & white portraits emphasise tones and textures, so choose simple clothing. For more formal portraits, consider a plain shirt or garments with a collar. For relaxed ‘contemporary’ portraiture a simple white or dark t-shirt is ideal. Please bring a couple of changes of clothes to try different looks. Longer sleeves tend to be more flattering on adults (shirts or blouses). Try to wear classic designs like plain shirts or t-shirts as more fashionable garments may date quickly. (Different criteria for models looking for fashion and portraiture. However a make-up artist is available.)

Make-Up

  • Normal make-up is fine, keep it simple and avoid putting on extra makeup for the session, however it is a good idea if you bring along your make-up with you to touch up during the session.

Hair

  • Important! Please remember to bring a hairbrush.

After your portrait session we will arrange for you to come back within one to two weeks to view and select the your pictures on screen. Once your order has been finalised everything will be printed any ready for collection within 6 weeks of the order being placed. We recommend you choose frames and mounts during the viewing. Alternatively, we can arrange (with suitable prior notice) viewing within three hours of your portrait session. You then choose your favourite portraits and place your order. There is no minimum order or package that you are required to purchase other than the sitting fee payable on the day of the sitting.

My advice on young children would be to avoid giving advance warning to your child. From experience, younger children may get very excited or alternatively very apprehensive. Please try to book an appointment at a time of day when your child is alert and full of energy as this will ensure the best results. If your child has a favourite toy please feel free to bring it along. Please note all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Please avoid sessions within a few days of inoculations as your baby is probably not in the best form and skin can be affected.

Don't worry, we will help you through the various choices. Here's a few things to keep in mind: Before you leave home think about where your wall portraits are going to go.Get out the measuring tape for approximate sizes. What colour frames will work with the wall colour and/or existing frames? If possible, leave the kids at home... they will be entranced at seeing their picture on the big screen BUT only for about two minutes... then they will inhibit your ability to make choices.

There is a charge of €100 for your portrait session and this is payable on the day. If you have a large group of seven or more additional studio time and costs may apply.
